Senator Angela Mosley’s Senate Bill 777 to be Heard in Committee
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Angela Mosley, D-Florissant, on Tuesday, April 1, will present Senate Bill 777 to the Senate Progress and Development Committee at noon in Senate Committee Room 1 in the State Capitol.
This bill sets June 17th of each year as Neighborhood Gun Violence Prevention Day in honor of the late Preston Ja’mon “Tink” Jones, Sr. who died due to senseless gun violence in 2022, and whose memory still reminds us of its horrors. The intent of the day being to draw attention to gun violence and help communities come together to understand how to prevent it.
“Gun violence has no place in our community,” Sen. Mosley said. “I believe setting aside this day and remembering Mr. Jones’ story will help us to remember that and make efforts to fight against gun violence in all forms.”
