Senator Angela Mosley’s Senate Bill 824 to be Heard in Committee
JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Angela Mosley, D-Florissant, on Tuesday, April 8, will present Senate Bill 824 to the Insurance and Banking Committee at noon in the Senate Lounge in the State Capitol.
This bill ensures that health benefit plans will cover genetic testing, specifically for individuals who have a family history of cancer. This will help to identify mutations that may be harmful and help the fight against cancer start as early as possible. It will also prohibit insurance companies from using the results of these tests to determine coverage and costs.
“We do not need to wait until cancer rears its ugly head to fight against it,” Sen. Mosley said. “We can start the fight today.”
