Senator Steven Roberts Elected Vice Chairman of the Missouri Veterans Commission JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri State Senator Steven Roberts, D-St. Louis, has been elected vice chairman of the Missouri Veterans Commission, further strengthening his long-standing commitment to serving the state's veteran community. Roberts, who has served as one of the two commissioners from the Senate since his appointment in September 2022, was elected to the leadership role earlier this week. Senator Roberts represents the 5th Senatorial District in St. Louis and currently serves as assistant minority floor leader in the Missouri Senate. Outside the Capitol, he holds the rank of captain in the Missouri Air National Guard’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) and leads Roberts Law, LLC, as managing partner. “I’m deeply honored that my fellow commissioners have entrusted me with this role,” said Sen. Roberts. “Our veterans have given so much to defend our freedoms. I am committed to working every day to ensure they receive the recognition, respect and resources they deserve.” The Missouri Veterans Commission oversees a range of critical services for Missouri’s veterans, including the operation of veterans’ homes, cemeteries and benefits programs.
