Senator Angela Mosley Passes Bills to Provide Disaster Relief

JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Angela Mosley, D-Florissant, helped champion Senate Bill 1, Senate Bill 3 and Senate Bill 4 to help provide disaster relief to citizens devastated by storms earlier this year.

Each of these bills provides some amount of disaster relief alongside other provisions. Senate Bill 1 allows various state departments to use funds for disaster relief and there is funding for the Missouri University Research Reactor which benefits cancer research. Senate Bill 3 provides a $5,000 tax credit for those impacted by the disasters this year as well as a tax credit for professional sports teams to help them improve and develop stadiums. Finally, SB 4 preemptively authorizes the use of federal funds for disaster aid.

“The devastation the St. Louis area and Missouri has seen in the last few months is unbelievable,” Sen. Mosley said. “I am glad to say, help is finally on the way.”

The three bills now wait on action from the House of Representatives.
