Celebrating Juneteenth
Hello from your favorite Senator Angela Mosley!
I had the great opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth and the end of slavery in our country with family and friends in our community. The fight continues to end prejudice and injustice in our community, but Juneteenth is a day of celebration, commemorating a victory in our rich and storied history in this country. I hope you found a way to celebrate this very important holiday and continue the fight for equality.
Also, I had a wonderful time this past week hanging out with the amazing kids from the Luce Charleston Outreach Center’s 2025 Coming Together to Bridge the Gap Summer Institute right here in my district!
We explored careers in respiratory therapy, dietetics, CPR and pharmacy—and let me tell you, these young people were locked in the entire time. Their energy, curiosity, and engagement were inspiring. The future is bright!
I have included a few events coming up in the next few weeks, including my Gun Violence Prevention Town Hall on June 26, and the Annual Community Resource Fair and Backpack Giveaway on Aug. 2. The town hall will be at 6 p.m. at:
Christ Our Redeemer Church
13820 Old Jamestown Road
St. Louis, MO 63033
The Community Resource Fair and Backpack giveaway will be on Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. at:
1 James J. Eagan Drive
Florissant, MO 63033
Finally, don’t forget to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds through disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362 if you were impacted by the devastating storms earlier this year.
