Statement from Sen. Tracy McCreery Regarding the MU Health Care-Anthem Senate Hearing JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Tracy McCreery, D-St. Louis County, today issued the following statement relating to Monday’s hearing in which the Senate Insurance and Banking Committee heard testimony regarding failed negotiations between MU Health Care and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield: “Today, members of the Missouri Senate heard testimony from representatives of MU Health Care and Anthem, whose contract dispute has left 90,000 Missourians, including many state workers, without a network provider since April as negotiations between the two entities fell apart. Hopefully bringing these discussions out of the board room and into full public view adds a measure of transparency and accountability to these negotiations, and a new contract can be agreed to as quickly as possible.
