Thursday, May 29, 2025Governor calls extraordinary session on KC stadium package After the governor’s last-minute push towards a stadium funding plan for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals died in the Missouri Senate during the last few days of the regular legislative session, he announced an extraordinary session for lawmakers to take another shot at it that will begin on Monday, June 2.

Friday, May 16, 2025The Missouri Senate on May 14 cleared a proposed constitutional amendment for the statewide ballot to completely repeal existing protections for reproductive rights and instead impose an abortion ban.

Tuesday, May 13, 2025On the Floor This week, the Senate discussed the following bills:• House Bill 75 would establish the Missouri Religious Freedom Protection Act and specify that no public official can issue an order that has the effect of limiting or prohibiting a religious group or place of worship from holding religious services or meetings. This provision does not apply to religious groups using places of worship to intentionally commit or plan acts of violence, or from complying with building and fire codes.
